Corporate numbers (法人番号) Live
Existence, registered name, address, entity type, and closure of the registry record. Diffs retrieved every business day.
Qualified invoice issuers (適格請求書発行事業者) Live
Registration, lapse, revocation, and whether a registration was valid on the date of an invoice. Sole traders included.
Closure, succession and readings (法人番号) Planned
Dissolution and closure dates with their cause, the successor corporate number after a merger, kana readings, and English names where they exist.
官報 legal notices Planned
Dissolution, mergers, demergers, capital reduction and statutory financial notices — the 会社法 公告. Corporations only.
How far the history goes back
We have retrieved the published diff files every business day since August 2026 and deleted none, so a point-in-time question is answered from that record onward. Registration, update, lapse and revocation dates go back further, because the full monthly file carries them per record.
How records are linked
Corporations are keyed by their corporate number (法人番号) and sole traders by their invoice registration number, because sole traders have no corporate number at all. Company records and invoice registration are held against the same entity, so you do not have to match them up yourself.
Records relating to individuals
Nothing here is searchable by a person’s name; every lookup takes a number. The NTA withholds sole traders’ names and addresses at source, so what we hold for them is a registration number and its dates. For 官報 we ingest corporate notices only, and no records relating to individuals.
